Windows on ARM PCs have been out a few years now and whilst the 32-Bit Windows App works, due to software emulation not optimally Apple announced on the 22nd of June Macs are moving to ARM starting. Xpotify at its core is a wrapped version of Spotify's PWA. It has several Windows 10-specific features added to it, but the first thing to do is compare the portion of the app that is made from.
The music giant is to music what Netflix is to TV and, unless youâre very discerning (or very unlucky), youâll find a great selection of your favorite music (and more) in a very easy-to-use app. Add that to the fact that Spotify's available almost anywhere you go and itâs no wonder that it tops the charts when it comes to music.
The top choice when it comes to streaming musicFor everyone except an unlucky few, Spotify is all the music youâll need.
Spotify is one of the most popular music apps around, and itâs not at all difficult to see why. Firstly, itâs hugely accessible. There is a version of Spotify available for almost every platform you could think of using and this is a large part of its likability. This version for Windows is exactly the type of flagship app youâd expect - itâs crisp-looking, fast, and easy-to-use and, although music quality depends largely on the quality of the device youâre reproducing it on (and not the app youâre using to play it), only the pickiest ears will have anything to say about the quality of the music you can listen to with Spotify.
The most basic level of Spotify is free, which is why it really is âmusic for everyoneâ. You can also sign up to Spotify Premium by paying a monthly fee. On the premium tier, the user experience is just a little bit nicer, with the ability to download music (great for planes), skip songs you donât like and, many peopleâs favorite plus - you donât have to listen to the ads.
Premium or not, the app is very easy to use. The main interface shows you a selection of things youâve been listening to recently, or music Spotify has decided youâll probably enjoy. Your library and playlists live on the left, and to the top on the left, youâll see the Home, Browse, and Radio buttons. Browse is a nice feature for the undecided, as itâs a great way to find new music and artists. Radio is where youâll want to go if you want music to play without having to make too much of an effort - pick an artist or music type, and it will find music related to it and play until you tell it not to.
Spotifyâs charms donât end with traditional music and their version of radio, however. By using Search and Browse, youâll also be able to find podcasts, charts, new releases, and even upcoming concerts in your area, as well as being able to find music by mood or purpose, like studying or exercising.
Spotifyâs settings are relatively simple and itâs here that some users do have complaints. When you head into the settings area, most of the things you can tweak are pretty simple or have nothing to do with music playback or quality. The number of tweaks you can actually make to the music is pretty low (you can add crossfade and change the streaming quality but beyond this, you have relatively little control over the music. For most, this lower degree of control is actually enough but, for a few, itâs unfortunately too little.
Spotify doesnât often go wrong but when it does the support team is usually fast to react. Youâll also find an acceptable amount of help online but youâre unlikely to need to do much troubleshooting yourself.
Where can you run this program?
This version is for Windows. There are also versions for other platforms, like Android, iPhone, and Mac.
Is there a better alternative?
There are certainly alternatives to Spotify, but whether or not theyâre better is really subjective. YouTube Music is slated to start making waves in the streaming music market soon, but we still havenât seen what itâs capable of doing. Google Play Music and Apple Music are contrasting giants; the former is nice if you have a lot of your own music, and the latter is ok only if youâre happy to use iTunes, as you need it for Appleâs streaming service. Deezer and Wave are also on the market, but they havenât even begun to challenge Spotifyâs reign.
Our take
For many, many people, Spotify provides music they want, works wherever they are, is easy to use and much more. If youâre an average music user, you know your favorites are on the platform, and you want your music solution to 'just work', then Spotify is the one for you. Some people are unlucky and find that their absolute favorites havenât reached an agreement with Spotify and, as a result, arenât in the catalog, which is a real shame. Others dislike the fact that the music youâre listening to is never yours (in which case, streaming music isnât for them). Others believe that streaming music is (possibly) damaging artists, given that revenues are not as high as before when people bought albums. If any of these are pricking your conscience, then you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest though, Spotify is all you need.
Should you download it?
If you have average music needs and your favorite artists are available, download Spotify. If you have your own music, want greater control over playback, or just donât like the idea of streaming, look for another music-listening option.

Spotify app june 2019. Spotify is gaining popularity at a very fast pace and I would not be surprised to know if it has completely replaced the default music player on your desktop and smartphones. But one thing that I am sure you might be missing on Spotify is a sound equalizer.
Sound equalizer is one of the very basic features of a music player but still after tons of updates, it continues to remain absent on Spotify. However as Steve Jobs once told, âThereâs an app for thatâ, so today I am going to show you how can get sound equalizer for Spotify across all your devices using third-party software/apps.
First letâs have a look at how we can get the equalizer for Spotify on Windows.
Spotify Equalizer for Windows
https://clevercolor431.weebly.com/blog/i-like-me-better-spotify-version-download. Getting the equalizer for Spotify on Windows is simple enough. All you need to do is to download and run the installer of Equalify and install the package. The installer can be run without the admin access but then you will have to provide the path to Spotify Windows user profile manually. Running the installer as administrator will take care of that on its own.
After the application is installed, restart Spotify. You will not notice any change until you play the first song after installing the package. Once you have done that, you will see a small EQ button next to the search box.
Click on the button to expand the equalizer. You can now edit the bands manually or choose from one of the many presets available. The option to save a manual setting is also available.
Note: If your sound card configuration supports sound enhancements, you can use it to modify any sound thatâs coming out of your speakers or headphone. This can help you not only with the Windows Spotify application, but also the web based player that Spotify has started rolling out.
After configuring it on Windows, letâs now have a look at how we can get the similar feature on Spotify app for Android and iOS.
Spotify Equalizer for Android and iOS
When I was doing my research work for this article, I came across many online posts which claimed that Spotify introduced the equalizer feature in one of its latest app update on Android. But when I tried it on my own, I didnât find the feature. Further when I read the comments, it seemed that I was not alone whose app was missing it. But now I know a way we can get it working and thatâs by installing the Equalizer app.
There are many equalizer apps available for Android that can modify the sound, but the best thing about this eponymous app is that it integrates seamlessly with the Spotify app. After you have installed Equalizer, navigate to Spotify settings and select the option Sound settings. Once you select the option, the equalizer app will open up and you will be able to change the sound settings. The app comes in both free and pro versions, and the only limitation of the free version is that you cannot save the manual settings you do on the equalizer.
Surprisingly the iOS version of Spotify has a built-in equalizer but thereâs no button or option using which you can access it. To open the equalizer you will have to draw a weird gesture while the song is playing and itâs very hard to explain that in words. This video should do a better job of it.
Donât worry if you donât get the equalizer in the first few attempts, I too failed quite a few times before I got it working. This built-in equalizer is very basic and lacks presets and the ability to create one manually.
Conclusion
So that was how you can get the equalizer for Spotify on Windows, and on iOS and Android. Though itâd have been better if it was available natively, this tool worked quite well in my tests. Try it out and enhance your music listening experience on Spotify.
